Network Topology
07/10/2009 16:41Network topology is, things that explains geometric relationship between the basic elements making up the network, namely nodes, links, and the station. Network topology can be divided into 5 main categories as below.
- Star Topology
- Ring Topology
- Bus Topology
- Mesh topology
- Tree Topology
Star Topology
Star topology is a form of network topologies in the form of convergence of the middle node to every node or user. Star network topology including network topology with Middle costs.
Benefit Topology star
- Damage to one channel will affect only the channel network.
- Level of security this type is High.
- Resistant to traffic of a busy network.
- Addition and subtraction station can be done easily.
Lack Topology Star
If the center node is damage, the whole network is interrupted.
RING TOPOLOGY
Ring topology is a network topology point-shaped circuit, each of which is connected to two other points, such that form a circular path to form a ring. In the ring topology, data communication can be disrupted if a single point impaired. FDDI networks anticipate this weakness by sending data clockwise and counterclockwise at the same time.

Computer Network
07/10/2009 16:27Computer network is a system consisting of computers and other network devices that work together to achieve a common goal. The purpose of the computer network are:
- Sharing of resources: for example, shared use of printers, CPUs, memory, hard drive
- Communication: eg electronic mail, instant messaging, chat
- Access to information: for example web browsing
In order to achieve the same goal, each part of the computer network and provide service request (service). Party requesting the service is called a client (client) and that provide services called the servant (the server). This architecture is called client-server systems, and is used in almost all computer network applications.
Classification Based on the scale:
- Personal Area Network (PAN)
- Campus Area Network (CAN)
- Local Area Network (LAN): a computer network that connects a computer with another computer with a limited distance.
- Metropolitant Area Network (MAN): principle the same as LAN, only the larger distance, ie 10-50 km.
- Wide Area Network (WAN): the distance between cities, countries, and continents. This is the same with the Internet.
- Global Area Network (GAN)
Based on the function: Basically every computer network is functioning as a client and server. But there is a network that has a dedicated computer as a server and the other as a client. There is also a computer that has no special function as a server only. Therefore, based on their function there are two types of computer networks:
* Client-server
Network is the computer with a dedicated computer as a server. A service / service can be provided by a computer or more. An example is a domain like www.detik.com lots served by the web server computer. Or it could be a lot of service / services provided by a single computer. Examples are jtk.polban.ac.id server that is a multi-service computer with the mail servers, web servers, file servers, database servers and others.
* Peer-to-peer
Namely computer networks where each host can be a server and also a client simultaneously. For example in the file sharing between computers on the Windows Network Neighborhood Network have 5 computers (we give the name of A, B, C, D and E) that provide access rights to the files they have. At one point A to access the file share of B named data_nilai.xls and also gives access to the file soal_uas.doc C. When accessing a file from B then A serves as a client and as a give file access to C then A serves as a server. Both functions were performed by the same A network like this is called peer to peer.

Stroke
07/10/2009 15:26In hemorragik stroke, broken blood vessels that block normal blood flow and blood seeped into an area in the brain and damage it. Nearly 70 percent of cases of Acute hemorrhagic stroke occurs in hypertension.
In ischemic stroke, blockage can occur along the arterial route leading to the brain. Blood to the brain is supplied by two arteria the internal carotid and two vertebral arteries. These arteries are branches of the aortic arch heart.
An atheroma (fatty deposits) may form in the carotid arteries causing reduced blood flow. This situation is very serious because each carotid artery normally provides blood to most of the brain. Fat deposition could also separated from the artery walls and flows in the blood, clogging arteries and smaller.
Carotid arteries and the vertebral artery and its ramifications could be blocked due to blood clots that come from elsewhere, such as the heart or a valve. This kind of stroke called a cerebral embolism (embolism = occlusion, cerebral blood vessels of the brain =) The most frequently occurs in patients who had heart surgery and people with heart valve abnormalities or heart rhythm disturbances (especially atrial fibrillation).
Fat emboli rarely cause stroke. Fat emboli formed when fat from a broken bone marrow released into the bloodstream and eventually joined in an artery.
Stroke can also occur when an infection causes inflammation or narrowing of blood vessels leading to the brain. The drugs (eg cocaine and amphetamines) can also narrow the blood vessels in the brain and cause stroke.
Blood pressure drops suddenly can cause reduced blood flow to the brain, which usually causes a person to faint. Stroke can occur if the low blood pressure is very heavy and chronic. This happens if one gets a lot of blood loss due to injury or surgery, heart attack or abnormal heart rhythms.

Setting Up UTP
06/10/2009 21:15This brief tutorial really suitable for the current computer network to make cheap, especially for more than 2 clients, with using hub much cheaper than a router. What is UTP cable? UTP cable is a special cable for data transmission.
UTP is stands for "unshielded Twisted Pair". It is called unshielded because less resistant to electromagnetic interference. And called twisted pair its because there are couples who arranged spiral cable twisted each other. There are 5 categories of UTP cable. From category 1 to category 5.
Category 3 can be used for data transmission up to 10 mbps, while the category 5 for transmition data up to 100 mbps.

WINE
06/10/2009 20:10Although we have already in Linux platform, you may still need a Windows application for typing, gaming, or other reasons. Linux and Windows are different, but Wine can put them together!
The purpose of the above is not meant to create an operating system 'hodgepodge' of Windows and Linux, but simply an application program that makes Windows feel as if running on Windows systems, although running on a Linux system. This program is called the emulator and emulator we meant is Wine.
Wine is typically used by users of Windows while in using Linux os because they are unfamiliar with native applications Linux. With Wine, Windows applications can be executed directly without the need to move to the Windows operating system.
May be the question: "Does Windows and Linux is an operating system that is technically different? Can Wine emulate Windows applications that can run in linux like its original condition? ". The answer is no. In general, there are things that can be emulated by Wine, some are not. A Windows program that all functions run perfectly on Windows may not function properly when diemulasi Wine. Even some Windows programs that refuse to work at all when emulated by Wine. All these risks must be aware of before running your Windows applications with Wine.
You may also be asked: "What difference does it make Windows applications run by VMWare (or similar programs like Qemu) with applications that run Wine?". The answer can you see in the following explanation.
- Wine does not require as much memory VMWare. Thus, the available memory (free memory) is greater than when using VMWare. These benefits will be felt if you plan to run more than one Windows application in Wine.
- Collaboration antaraplikasi Windows and Linux programs natively (eg when running copy and paste functions) becomes easier because the two programs are treated the same under Linux.
- Wine does not simulate the entire PC system as well as VMWare so that execution of the program in the Wine became faster.
How to get wine
type the following command below after u on the root
sudo apt-get install wine
source www.chip.co.id

Manual Setting Ip Address on Linux
06/10/2009 19:36Setting IP ADDRESS on Linux really is really easy as setting the IP ADDRESS windows machine. GUI Front for any IP Address Setting It's much better on Linux GTK, QT, as well as Curses based on Slackware's pkgtool.
But it's good that we know how to set IP address manually, because maybe someday we will be faced with a situation where we can not use the Desktop System at all.
In doing Setting IP Address on Linux the first thing to note is the address or the naming of Ethernet to be used, for example eth0, eth1, the DST. After the naming of Ethernet Device is known, then the next step is to set IP Address by using the following this command.
for the first step we must login to the root after we have already on the root type this command.
ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.1
command is an illustration of setting the IP address 192.168.0.1 on interface eth0.
ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0
Command is illustrated by setting IP address 192.168.0.1 on interface eth0 all used to determine the netmask.
After the IP Address defined the next step is setting up the default gateway to be used, can be done with the command.
route add default gw 192.168.0.10
Illustrates the setup of the command that the default gateway will be used on the IP address 192.168.0.10. The next step is to do the DNS settings to use, it can be done by editing the file "/ etc / resolv.conf" to determine the address of the DNS is used.
nameserver 192.168.10.10 nameserver 202.125.256.12

MODEM
05/10/2009 22:55Modem stands for Modulator demodulator. Modulator is part of changing the information signal into the carrier signal (Carrier) and is ready to be sent, while the demodulator is the part that separates the information signal (which contain data or messages) of the carrier signal (carrier) that accepted that the information can be received well. Modem is a merger of both, it means the modem is a two-way communication tool. Each remote communications device of two-way commonly use the so-called "modern", such as VSAT, microwave radio, etc., but generally the more modern term known as the hardware is often used for communications on the computer.
Data from the computer in the form of digital signal provided to a modem to convert into analog signals. Analog signals can be transmitted through several media such as mobile telecommunications and radio.
On arrival at the destination modem, the analog signal is converted into digital signals and transmitted back to the computer. There are two types of modems are physical, external modem and internal modem.
- ADSL MODEM
ADSL modem (Asymetric Digital Subscribe Line) technology that allows surfing the Internet and use the analog phone simultaneously. ADSL is given a device called a Splitter or divider line.
Splitter position when placed in front of the line calls. This means you can not graft the ADSL modem line with direct sound. Splitter useful tool to eliminate noise when you are using ADSL modem. With Splitter both can go together, where you may be able to answer and call someone with a regular phone. On the other hand you can still connect to the Internet via ADSL modem.
