strange network topology

how wonder i am... that speedy connection (game package) can be accessed on the networking netcafe without using router or pc server as gateway.. this topology setting i found on the net cafe's fren of mine.. the topology as like below

this is incredible.. so here just using switch to spreading internet data. do u bellive it?

but i am sure the topology like this bring posibility lost internet data... but in this case they say so far internet connection going ok..but i keep suggest to them to add harware its like router or PC with two lancard as gateway.. that mean like topology below

Am i rite? any comments?
